Alpacas often like to scratch and rub against trees, fence posts, and low bushes because it helps them relieve itching, remove loose fiber, and stay comfortable. Their thick fleece can trap dirt, moisture, and small irritants, especially during shedding season or warmer weather. Rubbing also helps them groom hard-to-reach areas and may even serve as a way to mark territory with scent glands. It’s a completely natural behavior and one reason alpaca owners often provide sturdy scratching posts or safe rubbing areas in their pastures.

A few years ago (at our previous location) The Lifetime channel visited the farm and filmed a scene for the popular series "Married at First Sight" Dana, your Alpaca guide and host had a cameo on the show. It was a blast as the camera crew filmed the birth of a cria (baby Alpaca) and included it in the episode.
